Please help me find my son. He is Michael Negrete, a UCLA freshman who disappeared without a trace from his dorm on December 10, 1999. To help me look for him, I am asking that you please forward this message to everyone that you know. Our family is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to finding Michael.
Michael Negrete vanished from Dykstra Hall in the early morning hours of Dec.10, 1999. He left with nothing: no wallet, ID, money, or extra clothes or jackets. He is a very talented musician, and left all his beloved instruments in his room as well.
There is no evidence to suggest that Michael was planning to go anywhere. None of his family or friends can understand why he left. As far as we know, he was looking forward to the end of the quarter and coming home for the holidays. He was completely relaxed, not stressed or depressed, and had no personal problems as far as anyone knows.
One theory to explain his disappearance is that Michael's mind amy have been and still is altered in some way. We believe Michael would contact us if he could.
However, we know believe that Michael is no longer alive.
Search efforts have included publicity in LA and San Diego newscasts, posting flyers, and contacting hospitals. Psychics have even been consulted. National news coverage has included "National Enquirer TV," "Extra," and "Primer Impacto." We are also scheduled to appear on Fox and MSNBC.
We have established a website where you can find flyers for posting, pictures, and more information. The address is: www.FindMikeNow.com
Please be assured that this is a true story. You may check its veracity by visiting the UC Police website at www.ucpd.ucla.edu/ucpd/negrete.html
Thank you for forwarding this message to as many people as you can. We are also asking for your prayers and positive thoughts for the safe return of our son.
